Azat - Slow Down

New Azat joint, can get it straight from his page, re-upping it here for your convenience. Another 20+ mins of beats and sample goodness. Check it out, and his older 'Make a Record of Your Voice and Send It to Him' that I linked above. Dude is quickly becoming one of my favorites in the craft.

Just downloaded it off his site, another awesome one! Hopefully some music videos?

sounds like he's drawing from the same source material as - or straight copping beats from? - this guy:

www.prettylightsmusic.com

but still, heady ish for the late night.

I'm listening to his disc 1 right now...gotta be honest I haven't noticed the similarities yet.

This is pretty chill stuff though, thanks for the heads up.

go to about 6:30 into "Slow Down" and compare that beat to Pretty Lights' song "Shortline" (track #1 on "Taking Up Your Precious Time"). and then at 7:50 in "Slow Down" it picks up the PL song "Wrong Platform" (track #3 from "TUYPT"). i went back and listened to "Make a Record of Your Voice..." and that too, at 16:00, is the PL song "Finally Moving" (track #4 on "TUYPT").

i'm not saying all this to be critical. i'm just a big PL fan and was surprised to hear so much overlap. i guess Azat is a fan too! it's all good, beats upon beats... but still interesting...

glad you dig on it. PL is great live, if you ever get the chance. and thanks for the great bloggage. cheerz.

btw, that PL song "Finally Moving" is a beat from the Rappin' 4-Tay song "Playaz Club," which is sampled from an old William Bell soul song -- so, you know, it's not like beat-coppin' ain't never been done before.

I only checked his first double-disc, I'll check TUYPT now.

Good call though, both quality.

Good ear/call, def quite a bit of overlap...

Wish I knew all the samples Azat uses...Bjork's 'All Neon Like' shows up on Make A Record...don't know some of them, though. Wish I knew where that first vocal sample came from.

Thanks for showing me.
