Optical*8

Otomo Yoshihide

Optical*8 is a four-piece Japanese experimental rock group.
The band consists of Hoppy Kamiyama (vocals, synthesizers, samples, violin), Reck (guitar, metal cavasa, bass),
Masafumi Minato (metal cavasa, backing vocal, drums) and probably the most-known of the group - Otomo Yoshihide (guitar, turntables, backing vocal) of Ground Zero.

Most of the lyrics seem seshual in nature and are frantically interjected through the band's drum/bass heavy sound; extended jams pulverize some of the beefier tracks, with pockets of weird experimentation present throughout.
Both of these '94 releases essentially round-out their discography (minus their '92 self-titled that I can't find), with 'Bug' being my personal favorite.

No problem - & will do,
they have a mostly-live CD too called 'All Over' but mostly features stuff from these two albums.

I couldn't find 'All Over' but I did find 'The Last Waltz From Distorted Honky-Tonk' which is under the artist name Optical*8*2. It's a 40 some minute long track. If you need I can hook you up with it.

Right on, yeah I forgot to mention that -- the album cover is lolz

I think I have that on my hard drive but I haven't had the chance to listen to it yet...

How is it? I'm pretty sure I have it around but if not I'll def request an up.

Idk I might be away from my HD/setup for another week, if it's no trouble you could up it here if you want -- I could give it some headphone treatment.

Hey, I'm the anonymous that's been talkin bout Optical*8, I finally signed into my account and started putting music up.

The Last Waltz is definitely something to listen to when high I'd say, it dances around noodling and what seems to be improv, and every now and then turns into a little funky jam... my favorite part is right around 20 mins in.
Check my blog for tunes, and I'll continue using yours to find more good music!
