El Grupo Nuevo De Omar Rodriguez Lopez - Cryptomnesia

Some punky humans

I briefly mentioned this album a few posts down -- basically it's one of many projects propelled by Omar (TMV/guitar) -- apparently the first in a series of three albums featuring Cedric (TMV/vocals), Juan (TMV/bass), Jonathan Hischke (ex-Hella, Synth-bass), and Zach Hill (Hella/9,000+ side-projects/drums).

This album originally was released on vinyl during Record Store Day on April 18th, following with a fairly lackluster rip to boot (well I mean,
at the time, it was still pretty good)...

So I thought I would share the 320kbps/CD rip version of the album, as it's a pretty substantial jump in quality from previous rips. If you're a fan of TMV/Zach Hill at all, this is probably a no brainer -- but for everyone else, give this some play -- really interesting output from everyone involved.

yeah but when was the last time they actually made a great record. i am tired of getting amped for each new release and then it sounds just like the last hour long masturbation session for omar. shredding psych jazz rock does not have to sound like masturbation, and they proved that with the first three releases, and since frances i have been overly disappointed so this record better have something to prove.

lolz

yeah idk, different strokes I guess. Omar's stuff can def be indulgent but that's partly why I dig it so much -- I thought amp & bedlam were both quality albums.
